New
Albany Girl's Powerlifting team competed at Desoto Central Fri.
the 22nd in North-Half. The meet was a
success. Of the 12 lifters that competed 11 finished
the event. Pretty good for a charter team
This was their first competition and they responded.
We didn't win, but we definitely gave 'em some
competition. Our girls seemed intimidated at first
when all the competitors starting coming in, but they
really responded. Every lifter improved their own
personal lifts once the adrenaline got going. I was
really proud of them. We did have one lifter that
advances to State Competition on April 5th. Kierra
Clay placed 3rd in the 148lb. class. She had a really
good showing and I believe she is committed to
improving her chances. This team was a joy to coach.
Winning makes it really fun, but it's hard to beat
that feeling when you see everyone on your team post
personal highs. That was and still is a great feeling
to have.
